    Got my Springfield TRP...

Picked up my Springfield TRP today. This is one of the best production 1911s out there. I just got through cleaning her up. Here are some detail pictures below.

    Hand fitted parts

    Polished feed ramp

    Frame/slide/extractor fitment

I hope my new SA Loaded don't get jealous (I haven't even shot her yet) but that is straight up sexy right there!

Is there any commandments about "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's 1911"?

One sweet weapon! It's really amazing the quality of "off the shelf" 1911's these days. Springfield is at the top of the heap with that piece.

          Enjoy it!

^^^You might have better luck getting one online and shipped to the FFL of your choice.

I've only seen a few of them in my life in stores I never knew they were hand fitted that is one nice piece of kit you got there.

                Wow.

The craftsmanship of the TRP is amazing. I wish I could join that club.

                Very nice man!

Can someone with a 'Loaded', 'Mil-Spec', or 'GI' grade Springfield 1911 tell me if the slide to frame fit is as tight as the TRP?

Springfield says the Trophy Match and the TRP are better fitted than these models and I just want to check.

Also, for those with the MC Operator, is your slide to frame fit like the TRP? I think the MC Operators are 'NM' serial numbers meaning frames are finished in the U.S. TRPs and Trophy Matches have 'NM' serial numbers as well.

Just kind of shocked because my TRP Operator has almost exactly the same slide to frame fit as the OP's TRP. Starting to get happy about my TRP Operator again.

Btw, another nice thing about the TRP is that even with this tight slide to frame fit, reliability does not suffer. The only time my TRP had hiccups were due to either the mags I was using or my reloads' OAL was too long.

To the OP, very nice pics and pistol.

I guess you decided on the TRP over the Baer you were considering. The pics above and my own TRP are getting me to reconsider the suggestions I make for 1911. Now you just have to take that TRP for some USPSA Limited-10 action shooting.

I rented one a few years ago, and the front checkering made my fingers bleed. Really sharp checkering. Hope it's not quite as aggressive now?
