how does it feel? is it bad because it hurts your hands or just cosmetic? I have know the grip screws to strip out and rust often on well used sigs, about the only thing on a SIG that is a FAIL in my opinon, use lock tite on the grip screws, and a dab of synthetic oil on the heads to stop the rust.

The grip is outstanding now. I could wash my hands with olive oil and still have a good grip. Just ugly as heck!!!

So you did good! Positive control is essential in shooting, especially when your hands are sweaty or shooting in the rain, good job!

Did you even try to practice on a piece of spare kydex before jumping right in??

That would be the biggest indicator to me whether or not you had any idea of what you were getting into.. Who tries to paint a masterpiece without first learning how to draw stick figures?

Most just use a regular soldering iron (from the times I've asked) with amazing results. This is the danger with home gunsmithing I suppose.. Everyone and their mom thinks they can do it, and do it well..

But you're right, the grips are cheap and easily replaced. Give it another try.. Im sure you'll have a much better result if you give it some foresight and planning..

This is not a big deal because the grip panels are replaceable. The people I am concerned about are the ones that butcher Glock, and M&P frames that can't be replaced as easily.

It may look bad but as you stated the end result is a better feel and you had the cajones to go for it which gives you more expertise on the subject than I, so kudos to you
