    CA approved safty lock?

I just won a Taurus 605 at a FNRA dinner . it has a lock behind the hammer, set with a key. is this a CA approved safty lock?. I don't have the gun yet so I have no idea how it works.

I don't believe so. I'm pretty sure it still needs to have something like a trigger lock or cable lock for transfer to you.
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I don't think CA has approved any locks that are integral to the firearm itself.

Here is the California DOJ regulations for firearm safe devices. After reading the regulations it sounds like it either has to be a cable or padlock type of device or a trigger lock.
If this is a new gun it should come with a lock.

I don't know if they have or haven't, but I sure can't find a list.

So, I just sent a question to the DOJ Public Inquiry Unit, asking how I can find out. If I get an answer, I'll share.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

The only "roster" they have available lists separate devices. All the cable locks, trigger locks, enclosures and whatnot.

Although the code allows for it:

            (a) "Firearms safety device" means a device other than a gun safe that locks and is designed to prevent children and unauthorized users from firing a firearm. The device may be installed on a firearm, be incorporated into the design of the firearm, or prevent access to the firearm
They fail to say if any integrated device has been tested, or is accepted.

Does the lock that's built into the gun have a different manufacturer or model number? Sometimes companies will outsource a separate lock to someone else (my beretta came with a Beretta badged masterlock), so I wonder if they might do the same with the internal lock?
