.45 Brass Hitting Me in Face

So I took my SA Loaded to Firing Line yesterday, and as I was shooting, I noticed that every so often I would get pegged in the forehead by an ejected case. I was wondering if this is normal ejection pattern (dont think so, but just want to make sure), and if not, what is the cause. Does the ejector or extractor need tuning or replacement? Or maybe a spring needs to be replaced? What say you?

Is the extractor clean? The extracting of the shell direction should be consistent. Got a picture of your extractor?

Typical on at least Colts and Springfields in my experience. I know that's one of the differences on a Kimber - the ejector.

I have the same issue with my SA loaded. Never saw it on the Kimber though
There been times when the 45 would literally bounce off my glasses.

Don't own a SA, but I have heard that happen when you limp wrist some Glocks. Ask a friend or someone else (preferabley an experienced shooter) to shoot the pistol and see if it does the same thing. This way you can cross off shooter gripping error. Just a thought...

Could be ammo related, I've noticed it a few times from my P220 while shooting magtech I believe.

Sorry, couldn't resist. I ruined an expensive pair of prescription glasses taking a .45 case to the face.
