    Shooting gloves?

I have been watching the Nutnfancy guy and notice he is shootinging with Mechanix gloves, gotta factor in the cold desert and snow for him. But I never gloves and now leaning towards the Mechanix line since they are thin, might keep some cold out and all around hand protection.

    Your thoughts?

    Thanks

Depends on what kind of shooting you are doing. I wear gloves when working with machine guns, but not with hunting rifles or casual shooting at the range. Mechanix gloves are not warming. Don't get me wrong, they're as helpful as a wind breaker. But, they don't keep your hands warm like some thicker, insulated gloves. If cold is your worry, get some good hunting gloves from Walmart (or your neighborhood store). If you're talking about protecting your hands during some intense training, Mechanix work great.

Personally, I like the "Nomex" type (sometimes called Flightline) gloves. Blackhawk makes the best pair.

I wouldn't recommend wearing them unless you need them, gloves can often get in the way or get caught in between metal.

Not a big fan of shooting gloves at all, but if I had to wear a pair, it would be a thin pair like the Mechanix or a pair of leather golfing / batting gloves. That's it.

Thanks. I want banking on Mechanix for the warmth, just throwing it out there.

My hands tend to sweat so I always wear gloves for a solid grip. Mechanic gloves are great, just make sure to buy the right size for you hand.

ive got a pair of CLC mechanic style gloves for shooting my ar 15s. not to keep them warm, but because when i shoot to practice for HD/super awesome tactical submarine clearing, i use the tacti-rad style of choking way up on the handguard, and the thing gets boiling hot. it actually gets to where i cannot hold the rifle for an extended period, and it kills my focus. so the gloves keep my hand from burning...

i dont wear them for shooting pistols, however.

Mechanix Gloves are GTG even in cool weather.

But don't forget that wearing gloves will change the trigger pull. May need an extra pound or two of pull with them on. Varies on weapon and glove type, but bear it in mind when choosing them.

under-armor makes a cold weather glove that i used for the night shoot Calguns had. they are thin and keep your hands surprisingly warm, also have good grip on them. i use them when i go to Chicago too. I also got some gloves from home depot that have some padding and grip for the girlfriend when she shoots my bigger guns

Like the above posts, ill use military issue nomex flight gloves when we do small arms training with our M4's, machine guns, and cold weather but never to shoot pistol. It's not really nnecessary unless you are gonna be shooting hundreds of rounds down range, if you are just punching paper I guess the need to look tacticool is a factor for some....

I've worn gloves to shoot pistols in sub-freezing weather but aside from that, I don't care much for shooting with gloves on.

My preference would be Mechanix style gloves if I were to wear any. I have a pair of Iron Clad brand gloves that fit my long fingers pretty well.

Any particular model of the Mechanix gloves that you folks recommend? I see them on Amazon for $12 to $24.

i like to wear Mechanix gloves when i shoot. I use the mechanix impact gun gloves for the extra padding on the palm. They make them in my favorite color, camo.
