I've bought them in the $700 range - It is a decent entry level gun if you can get one that runs right. Mine had issues with the extractor.

It's a great 'starter' 1911, much better than a RIA 1911, if you don't want to spend over 1,000 for a real work of art .45 handgun. Some people spend 3-5,000 on a single 1911, alone

Great accuracy and reliability (requires change out of Kimber magazines to Wilson Combat magazines), buy without any hesitation. Super tight tolerances, have had a Les Baer owner at the range comment on it being as good/better than his custom after extended shooting and manipulation.

The TLE has some extra features over the regular Custom II. Mine has been flawless thus far, but it can be picky on certain mags (until you break both the gun and mags in).

My brother purchased a TLE years ago, a little before LA SWAT adopted it and honestly, I think it's a great 1911 for the price..

I personally think the fit/finish on the TLE is somewhat more refined than on similarly priced Springfields. My brother has an annoying habit of not cleaning it, but despite this, the gun just runs and runs..

A great gun and very good accuracy. You will not be disappointed if you get one. Mine works flawless with Kim-Pro Tac Mags. 

I had feed and jamming issues with mine. Sent it back to Kimber said it was fixed. It still had feed issues. I must have got a lemon.

He must be a magic man since the TLE wasn't offered as a model until the year after LAPD SWAT began using their slightly modified Kimber Customs as their weapon. Kimber made the TLE for the public with the same features as the SWAT guns.

                      Good gun for the price.

Despite all the internet garbage, I personally along with all of my friends have never had any issues with our Kimber's. I have a Custom II that I purchased from bud's for $700.

i've handled two brand spanking new Kimbers most recently...a 5" and a 3" model. Both shot flawlessly.
