As far as I know I bought a brand new one from Turner's.

hmm... according to Kahr's FAQ, there should be a "U" engraved on the trigger guard if it was a factory refurbished model, otherwise it should have carried a full 5 year warranty with it. Perhaps Kahr can clarify things for you or update your warranty card if you give them a call. But if you do have a refurbished model... Turners might have some explaining to do, haha.

I agree that this Kahr needs a do-over from their service department.

Their QC leaves a lot to be desired. I have a P40 that had FTF/FTE problems (bought in '05). It has been working flawlessly since it took a trip back to MA. Sad thing is that it traveled on my nickel.

Just checked their website out of curiosity - no indication that they work to ISO or QS 9000 or similar standards - with these problems, the lack of this quality-related certification is not surprising

Can't find a U on it anywhere (or any markings on the trigger guard, for that matter), so it has to've been a new one when I bought it. I guess, it's time to call Kahr... Not that I'm looking forward to the call, given my prior experience with them.

I sent my PM9 to them on the 22nd. Luckily they payed for shipping to them. I still haven't heard another word from them yet, but hopefully everything is working smoothly when I get it back. I'll be sure to keep those that are interested updated.

A bunch of guys I work with had this and similar issues. When I went to a Armorer School one of the instructors used to work for Kahr before switching over to Glock. According to him the main problem was a pick a part from a bin hand polish, put together and check for fit. What one employees version of hand polish was wasn't always anothers. Also the check for fit was kinda a guideline, not a rule. He did say the customer service was always happy to fix them. I have to agree with that. One guy got his right on the third time back after a new slide a barrel, both replaced twice in different combos.

Yes they can be frustrating considering the $ you pay. I had to send my P380 back twice for numerous problems even after hundreds of rounds. They changed a lot of parts, and were nice and all but jeez... Now though It's one of my CCW guns and I totally trust it. Once they fix it, keep it clean and wet and you should be good.

With this being a new gun, Kahr should send you the pre paid shipping label. Call em up.

Got my PM9 back from Kahr today, it only took one week, so I'm pretty happy about that. The work order says that the slide was replaced. I haven't shot it yet, hopefully I'll get in some range time this weekend. Here are some pics comparing before and after.

We are not talking about the CW9 here. We are talking about the PM9. Do you even know the price of the PM9 or the P380? The reason people paying so high for it because they were the only company in the market with single stack mag; not anymore. I can buy two glocks for a price of one PM9 and I dont need 200 rounds break in. We have a bunch of new single stack 9mm coming out this year (Sig P290, LC9, Kimber Solo).

I love kahrs, but I won't pay that much for one. Its like HK, I love there stuff, but its just too expensive.

That bulge of metal inside the slide may have been the problem. I have 3 Kahrs - P9, PM9, and P380 and none of them have that bulge. It makes me think that your PM9 had the wrong slide all along and that's why they replaced it with one without that bulge. All of my Kahr's have some of that metal scraping on the barrel and inside the slide. I took a metal file and smoothed off the sharp edges of the slide and the barrel in that area where they first contact and it seemed to stop that from continuing.

Wow! I did not know people had so many problems with the PM9.. Guess I was lucky.
I have 250 rounds through mine but it had no problems and has worked flawless.

I went to the range today and shot about 75 rounds through the gun. Everything worked flawlessly, but I won't be completely satisfied until I get a couple hundred more rounds through it. All in all though, I'm quite happy that it worked.
