I started giving code names to my guns when talking with friends in public places.

That way nosy people wouldn't know I was talking about the boom stick.

It's not that hard for someone to figure out that you're talking about guns even without naming any firearms. And for the people who can't pick up on gun talk, they probably wouldn't be able to pick up on many firearm names, unless it's something obvious like Glock.

Personally, I have no desire to name my guns anything other than their model names.
