I am liking what I see here and all signs point to being able to make the roster. So what kind of timeline could one expect. IT seems as if the bodyguard went through rather quickly then again I wasnt really watching either.

Also to those who have handled this what do you think in comparison to the LCP as far as fit feel and size? Is it too big to stuff in your pocket?

I held one at SHOT show and it isnt too much bigger than the LCP. Prob about an inch longer and another inch taller. The reps at the show said it wasn't going to be available in CA, but who knows. Its already for sale in a few shops in NV.

Yes, the LC9 is currently undergoing testing for approval in California, and Massachusetts, I would recommend you monitor our web site for an announcement of test results, and when it will be available in your state.

I too am ready to buy this as my CCW weapon. Ruger Rep told us that they are really supportive of California shooters and try and get all their guns approved. The LCP is just to small to put the magazine disconnect in.

While Ruger got the price right, they didn't get the design right. Comparing it to a Kahr, the PM9 is way to big for pocket carry so that would negate the LC9 for pocket carry unless you wear big baggy pants. And why Ruger decided to put a thumb safety on this thing is well beyond me. They should have just made a slightly bigger but identical LCP in 9mm. Would have been perfect.

Might as well go with a Glock 19. If you want a pocket gun, get the LCP. I know .380 is expensive, but you will not use this gun to win IPSC matches. I carry the LCP, and it is much more easier to conceal. In fact, I sometimes forget that I am carrying it in my pocket. Weigh only as much as my cellphone and it is reliable gun.

Meh, doesn't matter if it's on there. Just don't use it. Unless of course it just happens to flip to safe when your life is about to be take by a violent criminal and you die. I know, off chance, but any chance is too much to me.

Safeties on guns are freaking stupid. Some people think that because a safety is on means the gun is completely safe which there's nothing further from the truth. Guns are always loaded and can always go off. Any device that could tell the less than fully informed is just bad.

I was hoping it might make a nice pocket 9mm but its quiet a bit bigger then the PM9. A handgun that small is really only good for pocket or ankle carry. The Kahr is the better choice. For any other type of carry, if a sub-compact is wanted I would look at Glock, XD, M&P or a 3" to 3.5" 1911.
