He must GIFT it to me.
He needs to ship it to an FFL that will accept non-FFL
"Note that this is still an interstate transfer, and the FFL may charge any fee for this service he may think appropriate."
I need to find an FFL who will accept from a non-FFL and wont rape me.

    That about it?

      Unfortunately, no.

Family gun transfers in California (parent/child, grandparent/grandchild, husband/wife)

California allows Non-FFL transfers among certain family members, all of whom live within California. Federal law has nothing similar.

In all cases the law specifies the receiver must not be prohibited from owning guns.

The applicable Penal Code is 12072(d) and 12078(c)
      12078 (c) (1) Subdivision (d) of Section 12072 shall not apply
to the infrequent transfer of a firearm that is not a
handgun by gift, bequest, intestate succession, or other
means by one individual to another if both individuals are
members of the same immediate family.
      (3) As used in this subdivision, "immediate family member" means
any one of the following relationships:
      (A) Parent and child.
      (B) Grandparent and grandchild.

Welcome to the Club, this is why we're all here. This is why it's so important we don't give up fighting for our rights, otherwise we lose them so easily.

I think he means scheme as in method to achieve a stated objective, which is not neccessarily illegal, nefarious or otherwise unsavory.

There are various tax avoidance (avoidance is legal and is not evasion) methodologies that are commonly referred to as schemes.

              Just terminology.
