    CA Handgun Purchase

I just completed PPT for a used handgun last week. I am interest in purchasing another used revolver. Do I need to wait 30 days to do so? A calgun member posted a reply that if you are purchasing/selling used handguns the 30 day wait period does not apply. Can anyone confirm this?

    Thank you,

If it is done via PPT, the wait does not apply. For just about anything else, the 30 day wait applies (this includes private party transfers that were shipped to an FFL.)

The issue is not 'used' but who is selling: a dealer, or a private individual.

Boink has it correct. See also the Calguns Foundation Wiki article http://wiki.calgunsfoundation.org/in..._in_California

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

It actually depends on how the firearm is transferred, not just who is selling it. If the firearm is transferred as a PPT (both people going to the FFL), then it is exempt from the 1 gun per 30 days. If the firearm is coming from a private party, but shipped or transferred as a dealer sale, then it is NOT exempt from the 1 in 30.
