If you're looking for something just a bit different or fun, how 'bout a .357 wheel gun? Plink around with light loads or load up the Big Dogs for a bit of booming fun.

At present I load .357 & .45ACP. Just me, but I don't want to stock supplies for a lot of calibers but just one would be boring.

I do plan to acquire a .44 Magnum & load for it, tho. IMO it's another versatile caliber that can do a lot and is a LOT of fun to shoot.

The spice of life is variety, try a few other calibers you'll like it.

Variety is the spice of life. It gets awfully boring eating meatloaf for supper every night. Occasionally you need to throw some chicken or steak in there.

Everyone should have a 9mm, even if it's just a range toy. Commercial reloads are cheap and with a good +P it's a very capable self defense round.

          If you re-load i'ld go with a .45acp.

Or you could go with a good .357 wheel gun. Commercial .38 special reloads are dirt cheap, load 'er up with .357's for a little more punch and it's good for small game and there's no denying the .357 is a great defense round.

After consolidating plaforms to two and one caliber, there was a noticable improvement in shooting skill for me at least. As well as a noticeable difference in my pocket book.

                5. If a 1911 only came in 10mm I wouldnt buy one. Makes no sense cost wise for me unless the gun and ammo were dirt cheap.
                6. Everything I buy has to have a fun factor AND a use for me if things go bad. Just a toy isnt for me because I dont have a money tree in the back yard.

Would you buy multiple pairs of the same shoe - and only that shoe?

Other calibers (and types of guns) are too much fun to limit yourself! You should have a wheelgun as well as autos, so not many .40 wheelguns out there. And then a good SA Auto, a SA revolver, a DA revolver, a 22 plinker, etc. etc.

If you are a worrying about the SHTF type, have multiple guns and just stock up your massive round count for your favorite! Just because you buy and keep 10,000(+) rounds of .40SW doesn't mean you can't also have and use other calibers!
And a nice accurate .22lr is a great small game getter if you are a SHTF type. Markets will be closed - where you going to get food? Squirrel (or whatever) on a stick! Your .40SW won't leave much to eat.

I recently tried reducing the number of handgun calibers I have by selling off my remaining 9MM.

Didn't work, darn it. Now I have two 9MMs instead of one.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

I've been ditching guns left and right in my collection reducing the number of calibers I have to stock. I don't know what I was thinking when I was younger and went crazy. At one point in time I had 13 different calibers.

                        IMO stick to just a few "classics" .22, 12ga, 9mm, 5.56, 308, maybe a 7.62x39 for an AK and or a .45acp if you want a 1911.

I only have 9mm caliber for handguns because I cannot afford to shoot 45acp. I have to budget my money wisely because I also need to buy .223 and 12 gauge. I will stick only with 9mm, .223, and 12 gauge from now on. However, if you got extra $$$ than buy all

                            I stick to .22lr, .30luger, .30mauser, 38special, 357 mag, .380acp, 9mm, 44 special, 44mag, 45 Colt, 45acp, .223, 5.56, .308, 7.62mm, 7.62x39,300 WSM, 30-06, 12ga, .410 and .20ga.

Life is much simpler now since I dumped the .32acp!

Its too difficult to have tons of multi caliber weapons. I got rid of my .357's and am sticking with 9mm for handguns, 12 gauge for shotguns, and 7.62 x 39 or 5.56 for rifle.
