    My First 1911

So I finally bought my first 1911, and I realized that I should have done this a long time ago. I finally understand all of the JMB worship. I bought a used Kimber Raptor II from a fellow Calgunner, and I got to pick it up on monday afternoon.
I took it straight to the range and played with it a bit. Overall it's sweet, the trigger feels great, and it's pretty accurate considering that I don't have too much handgun experience.
The first pic is my best group of the day at 10 yards, the following pics are after a complete detail strip, clean, and lube, and some VZ grips, an Ed Brown Chainlink MSH and magwell, and Chip McCormick mag

Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

✟ In the beginning was the 1911, and the 1911 was THE pistol, and it was good. And behold the Lord said, "Thou shalt not muck with my disciple John's design for it is good and it workith. For John made the 1911, and lo all of his weapons, from the designs which I, the Lord, gave him upon the mountain."✟

Beautiful. I love the worn look and the VZ-grips.

Not bad for your first 1911.
              Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I am still debating what to get myself as a first firearm.

But what you have is definitely out of my league.
