Check barrel rifling. Check to make sure extractor spring is still there... Your extractor will wobble around if it's gone - I know, because when I bought my Tokarev, it was missing this spring and causing all sorts of problems. Check for rust! Most of the ammo commonly available for this gun is corrosive, and you'll want to check that the previous owner took care of the gun and cleaned it after every range trip with it. If there's any rust or pitting, especially down the barrel, ask for a discounted price, or don't buy it at all.

That would likely require an out of state transfer fee, which is averaging $50-$75 in most FFL's. I figure C&R pistol purchases in CA are easier and cheaper via PPT, and C&R long guns are easy both online (If you have an 03), or face to face as well.

Tips of the firing pins can break. Check with the "pencil test." Since you said you're new, I'll describe it. Make sure it's unloaded. Then cock it. Place pencil inside barrel, eraser side down. Point pistol in air. Pull trigger. The firing pin should hit the eraser and send the pencil into the air.

C&R pistols may be cheaper via PPT but not on this forum

if you shop around online and for an FFL you can get a tokarev for $250 OTD.

If you have a C&R log into SOG's website and order one of their Romanian Tokarev's for $189.95 each comes with 2 magazines and a holster.

They charge 3% for the use of a CC and shipping will be about $22.00 so you would be looking at about $218.00.

And, remember to use their website to place the order and just wait and see what happens. I think you'll be surprised and happy.

                Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Screw that. Go to straitline tactical to have something received. 50 bucks out the door.
