    FNH .45 Tactical

Anyone fired this gun or have feedback on it. Looks to be a high quality combat style handgun for a reasonable price! Be nice to have a .45 with a 15 round magazine capacity!!

FYI you can get 15 rounds with a Glock 21 or a XD 45 with +2 extensions.

Also the FNH .45 tactical is not on the CA approved list.
The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

I'm really not a fan of how the FN's feel in the hand, although I have not shot one.

Are you LEO or exempt from the DoJ safe list? If not you're going to have to single shot the FNP 45 tactical, and the threaded barrel is a no go.

I have a FNP45 USG which is just like the tactical, but without the milled slide for the MRDS.
My gun is one of the softest shooting .45s I have shot. It is also very accurate and will shoot as good as an off the rack sub-$1000 1911. It's one of the best .45 polymer guns available.

I have a FNP-45 USG. It's replaced my Glock 21 and M&P 45 as my primary handgun. I could not be happier with it. Super reliable, accurate and fantastic to shoot.

The grip texture is aggressive. It bothered me at first but not at all after a few range sessions. My only complaint is the safety/decocker lever on the left side was rubbing into the joint of my thumb closest to my palm. I asked a FN rep about it at the 2010 SHOT Show and he knew exactly what I was talking about. I followed his advice and used my Dremel to take down the part that was rubbing ever so slightly and it has been perfect ever since.

I've heard some FNP-45 mags have problems with Winchester White Box .45. Supposedly The rounds are loaded a little longer than spec and this somehow causes a problem. I haven't confirmed this because I reload my ammo. I use mostly Bear Creek Moly bullets. It's fired every hollowpoint I've tried so far.

Nice gun but not for everyone. Trigger kinda feels like a two stage.
As with every gun only way to know if it is right for you is to get hands on with one.

Toolbox X is right about WWB. I have 3 magazines that will not load past 4rds using WWB. I measured the WWB rounds versus Federal, Remington, Blazer Brass, etc., and WWB do run long causing them to hang in the magazine.
I've heard that FN has adjusted their magazines, but I have not checked. I just keep WWB on hand for reloading drills now. I'll load each magazine with 2-3rds and practice.

Agree that the DA pull is too heavy, but the SA is very nice. I use mine cocked n locked SA only. They really are great shooting guns very accurate and mild recoil, but can be a little ammo sensitive. They do not like low power rounds. I had to increase my powder a bit to get my reloads to function reliable in it.

If you don't mind me asking, who did your barrel swap and did you have to purchase a separate non threaded barrel? How much was it? I'm looking to get a FNP 45 Tactical in the distant future....

Nope. FNP's and FNX's are different. From what I understand there is no FNX in .45ACP, only 9mm and .40S&W.
