    Derringer owners...

Whats a good model to get?

There is a store here in Riverside near my work that sells a slew of Derringers in various flavors.

I know squat about them, which ones will and will not blow up in my hand etc..

Always wanted one but never jumped on it..

    I really like this one : http://www.centerfirefirearms.net/co...s-p-11871.html

Bond Arms Derringers were not on the roster last time I looked. I have a couple of American Derringer Corp pistols. They are also not on the roster. You are pretty much limited to the Cobra brand pistols. They usually have very heavy trigger pulls. That is not such a bad thing considering the trigger has no guard.

Just saw this in the for sale section http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=390331 . If it's near you jump on it.

My suggestion: forget the two shot Derringers with the 50lb trigger pull. Look for a Beretta Bobcat (21a) in .22lr. Bobcat is a small pocket carry DA/SA 6+1 loaded with CCI stinger or Aquila Interceptor 40gr solid core. Reliable, inexpensive to shoot and very accurate. I carried one for several years.

Problem for you is......will the weenies in Sacramento let you own a Bobcat.

Years ago I had a .38 derringer don't know who made it I just know I put 4 rounds through it and sold it. I might get another one someday just not so big.
            Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Bobcat M21A is not on the roster either -- but still available via PPT or Consignment sale. I have one.

I have a Bond Arms Cowboy in .44 Mag/.44 Spcl. The trigger pull isn't bad at all. The Bond Arms guns are really made well and you can purchase various barrels for them. The only problem is that they're not on the roster and Bond Arms won't even ship accessories to CA. They do make a pretty neat conversation piece.

If you're set on a derringer and have a way to get one, the Bond Arms are worth looking at.
