Haha nice! I'm doing my transfer to Straightline as well since I heard of them in a previous thread. He said that he and his attorney are looking into the tax thing but for now: $50 flat. 40 minutes away but hey, save $25

If it's face to face, I just goto OC Armory since it's $35 & only 10 mins away, but if I need to have it shipped in, I goto Straightline for the $50 OTD... but it's about 20-25 mins away...

Don at straightline is awesome. Easy to deal with, good service, and fair prices. Bought my first gun from him a few months ago and looking into getting a second from there.

+1 on Straightline. Hard to argue a $25 transfer fee + $25 DROS = $50 OTD

For future reference, on cosignments they also only collect 10% for what the gun sells for. Other places like Turners are 30% or something.

Gussler's in Santee, a part of San Diego's East County. Excellent place and easy to deal with. Google Don Gussler FFL for results, I believe he charges $35 IIRC.

gussler's is great, done several transactions there. $60 out the door for a transfer, plus required use tax if bought from an online vendor. but that's the government's fault, really...

I guess you haven't DROSed a gun lately. Don't know about So Cal, but Gussler's and Parallax are both charging tax. And of course there's the DROS fee itself, so neither of those is $35 "OTD."

Poway Weapons & Gear doesn't charge tax (yet), it's $75 OTD.

I think it's something old, but few dealers charged it. Since Gussler's got audited it's becoming more common.

The use tax is old, but folks were supposed to report it with their state taxes. Just like you're supposed to report all out of state purchases. The problem with firearms, is the paper trail. And the easiest way to make sure they get their money is to hold the ffl hostage.

Parralax tactical in San diego is 35 for rifle 40 for pistol.
