What's on your thoughts on people failing the Handgun Safety Test. I witnessed a young 21-23 year old, wife-beater shirt, and pants barely hanging on his hip failed almost half the test. Now two things occurred in my head. One he was a slow learned or has short term memory issues or he was lazy and thought he can just breeze it through without actually studying. If the latter is accurate then my thoughts is that he doesn't deserve to own one. What are your thoughts.

Either way, he's too stupid to own a firearm.***Honesty is the Foundation of One's Character***

At age 12
My youngest daughter could do a condition check, field strip, reassemble and get a Glock 17 into Condition one without supervision.
She's 13 now and claims that GLOCK 17 as her own.
Who am I to argue?
Folks, we owe our kids several thing in life; handgun/firearms education is just one of them. Knowledge of firearms increases confidence and reponsibility and removes that Liberal-Mind-Set-Guns-Are-To-Be-Feared Syndrome.May the Bridges I burn light the way.

There are only like 2 law questions on the whole test. The rest of them are like:
Where shouldn't you point a loaded gun?
a. your eyeball
b. back of your throat
c. Friends head
d. at children
e. any of the above
If you fail this test you should be shipped to an island or drowned for the sake of humanities future.
Frankly, I'm upset you can miss 7 questions. I think that is criminal.Comment

That test is so ridiculously easy and is purely common sense. Anyone who fails the test should not EVER be allowed to own any firearm, not just a handgun. I realize it's a constitutional right to bear arms, but not when you're that stupid. There are some limitations as to who should get to own a gun, and someone like that definitely doesn't deserve it.Comment

Wow...I've never even had someone come close to failing. Sounds like a Darwin Award winner waiting for his moment. What's on your thoughts on people failing the Handgun Safety Test. I gave my 23 year old daughter some cash Christmas before last so she could buy a gun. We went down to handle some different stuff so she could see what she liked and she decided on one then and there. Since I don't need the HSC I didn't even think about it untill the salesman mentioned it. I'd never mentioned it to my daughter so she had no clue. The saleman handed her a test and said to give it a try. She was back in less than ten minutes, ans missed one question.01001001 00100000 01110111 01101001 01101100 01101100 00100000 01001110 01001111 00100000 01001100 01001111 01001110 01000111 01000101 01010010 00100000 01100011 01101111 01101101 01110000 01101100 01111001Comment

Blunty stated, this guy is too stupid to safely own and operate a firearm. Most people would be able to pass without even going over the study guide on a moments notice.I gave my 23 year old daughter some cash Christmas before last so she could buy a gun. I got 100% right on that test the first time I took it, did only 1 read through on the study material. What's on your thoughts on people failing the Handgun Safety Test. If someone actually misses half those questions not only should they not be able to buy a handgun, they should not be allowed to leave the house without a helmet.Yes, I am an electrical engineer.

I've met a few people in my trade who could not take tests. They would become overwhelmed with anxiety and barely be able to write. They were great workers, very intelligent, and did own/shoot firearms. Just had problems taking tests and sought years of therapy/doctors visits and it never helped.
Extremely rare but thought I'd add that.

The test is too easy... anyone that can't pass it is probably too stupid to exercise proper judgment with a firearm.
Theres nothing to stop him from getting a long gun though. :P The wife beater, show your butt pants wearer can go, "BREAK YOSELF NI***" with a bolt action!

I understand there are exceptions, and frankly I'm completely against the HSC anyway as it infringes on our writes and is nothing more than another taxation without representaion.I've met a few people in my trade who could not take tests. If the kid who failed was a criminal he wouldn't try buying a gun at a gunstore anyway.Comment
