    NFA question

I currently live in Texas and legally (by federal standards) own a GSG P5K with a silencer. Would this be something I could bring with me when I move this upcoming summer? I tried reading the codes but they stared to make my head spin and the whole SBR/SBS codes started melting together. I can leave it here with family because I have a NFA trust and my family is listed within my trust but if all possible, I'd prefer to keep my collection together.

It would need to stay out of state. Currently the only title II firearms people in CA can get their hands on are AOW's.

SBR/SBS's require a CA dangerous weapons permit, not given out to "normal people".

The suppressor would need to stay unless you were a licensed FFL/SOT setup in CA.
You think you know, but you have no idea.

The information posted here is not legal advice. If you seek legal advice hire an attorney who is familiar with all the facts of your case.

No suppressors, no FA, no SBRs, no SBS's, AOW's are annoying but obtainable, no importing of hi-caps (Over 10rds), be wary of Assault Weapons.

When coming, you can bring your pistols and long guns (Mostly), but the hi-cap mags aren't allowed to be imported here. Be wary of the Assault weapons laws. There's a flowchart at the top of every page on this site(AW & OLL guides); check your guns against this to see if you can modify them to be legal, if they're already legal, or if you'll be storing them out of state.

The handgun roster only applies to people buying guns from an FFL or via FFL transfer (With a couple exceptions). Bringing the ones you already own is fine.

No threaded barrels unless "permanently" capped or otherwise inaccessible.

Damn, didn't think i'd be typing so much to a "go, no-go" type of question... but it's mostly relevant to this fun thing.

The GSG will need to stay in a free state.
The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

This rule applies to handguns only. You can have threaded barrels on long guns.
              Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Thanks guys. It’s a shame state law overrides federal law, but it’s the law. And just think, I’m moving from a free state to be with the woman I love. I must admit, that’s some kind of dedication.
