    Ruger LCR w.357 brass question

I'm thinking of getting one of these, but I have one question that I hope someone here can answer if they have a LCR handy.

I load powder puff 158 wadcutters basically flush with the end of my .357 cases. Would they would chamber/work in the LCR since the OAL is still well under the OAL of a .38 special? Or is the cylinder designed to not accept .357 brass at all?

I'd just get the .357 LCR, but it doesn't look like they are for sale in CA...

    Any info is appreciated, thanks!

If it's not a .357 Magnum I don't believe the cases will chamber. The Magnum was given a longer case for exactly that purpose. To keep people from trying to run Magnums in their .38SP. The OAL doesn't really matter.

Edit: I see Ruger offers a KLCR-357. That would work.

Huh, I'm sure others know better, but I thought that the longer case was so when bullets were seated to the same depth that the .357s would protrude from the cylinder and prevent the cylinder from rotating.

I sort of assumed this because it spaces on the rim and not the case mouth.

I checked out the KLCR-357, but unfortunately it isn't on the approved list.

If you look in the chamber you'll see a step.

Will the 357 lcr be approved for CA?

            If no....why not?
