    1000 round Glock 19 Gen 2

I am considering a G19 Gen 2 with a total round count of 1000 or so. Is this considered low, moderate or high? I have seen the 1000 round torture test videos and while the gun survived, there is no way to know how much service remained.

This will be my first Glock so I am in education mode.

    Thanks

1,000 rounds is nothing for a glock.

I had a Second gen G19 had like 4,000 to 5,000 rounds and it still kept on ticking.

If you are worried about service life, Glocks last forever.

There was a guy on the Marketplace selling his 2nd Gen Everyday Carry G19 with 20k rounds and still works.

That's about normal and on the low side for most pistols. If you could afford it you could shoot 1k rounds in a day.

What to look out for are badly done mods, rust and depending on how clean you like a gun, holster wear.

Buy it. Spend 20 bucks on a few glock springs ( recoil spring, trigger spring, etc) and your gun is good as new.

1,000 rounds is NOTHING for nearly ALL guns. For the most part, the only exceptions are high power and precision rifles like a .338 lapua where you may see your accuracy start to degrade and need to replace your barrel around a couple thousand rounds. Even so, I know a fella that still shoots an old Remington .308 where the rifling is partially worn out of the barrel and it's still pretty accurate.

As far as GLOCKS go, they've got one in the Glock museum (or whatever they call it) that has something like 175,000 rounds through it and is still functional. Hell, you should only need to replace the springs every 3,000-5,000 rounds depending on how hot the ammo is you're shooting. That's likely being conservative.

Jump on it if the price is right. It's only just begun it's life!

I think I've put almost 20k through my G22 and it's still going strong with all its original parts. I should replace the spring, but the damn gun shoots better than when I got it lol

I'm a Certified Glock Armorer. If it really only has 1,000rds through it, you won't need to replace anything in it. It's practically new. Like novabrian said, "it's almost broken in". I literally put 1,000rds through mine in a weekend. I have over 40,000 through one of my G19's. Enjoy your new gun!

As everyone else has said, 1000 is absolutely nothing. That thing should be able to live through many tens of thousands with no problems.

That's a couple of weekends old. I know range Glocks that have 100,000 rounds on them. They run well. The good thing about a GLOCK is you can tune it up yourself for a few bucks and 5 minutes.

Buy it. I prefer the Gen 1 and Gen 2. Better grip. My favorite G17 is my 1992 model. (actually my 13 year old daughter claims it as hers these days )

Oh..and welcome to the ADDICTION....LOL...this won't be your last GLOCK.

True... You will buy more glocks. It is a disease.

1000 rounds in a handgun's life is nothing. That's only 5 or 6 USPSA matches and there's one every Saturday at Norco.

Don't buy it. It's near the end of its service life. Tell me who the seller is, I'll go take it off his hands for free just to do him a favor.

A 1000 rounds for a gen 2 glock? That sucker should look brand spanking new.
