    Hand gun case

    What do you guys do?

If you have multiple hand guns do you:

Keep each one in their own original case?
Get a nice hard case (like a pelican case) and keep them separate?
    Nice case with them altogether?
Use a gun bag or backpack?

I am looking for how to best transport my guns to and from the range.

I put a couple in the padded pistol compartments of my range bag and any other handguns in a foam lined hard case. I do not schlep all my guns in their original cases. Those are for storage in the safe.

In case this turns into a range bag discussion, this bag from Midway has been frequently and highly recommended. I have a Voodoo Tactical range bag.

If I bring both of my handguns, I'll have one in it's original case with a cable lock wrapped around the handle. The other gun, also in it's original case and cable locked will be in my range back pack. I like a back pack because it means I don't need to spend any money on a range bag, and because I don't like hanging things from one shoulder, and I don't like bags swinging all over the place.

i've seen people use 1 pelican style case for all their guns, to using individual hard/soft cases for each gun.

i guess it depends on how much stuff you want to carry?

i will be storing as many different guns in 1 case as i can rather than having multiple cases all over the place.

I use a 4 pistol case made by Seahorse. Works great and very secure. Not a Pelican but it's built damn good.

I have a four pistol case I got at big 5 I believe for 20 or so dollars on sale. I only have three pistols and there is room for a fourth including all my extra mags and uplula.

The original cases are too big to all fit in my little safe, so each handgun goes into a padded zip case (forget where they came from, but they weren't expensive). When I go to the range, I just put whichever zip cases I need into my range bag - an old TUMI nylon briefcase that got a little too dingy for work, but that can be secured by locking the zippers together. And yes, I have a big packing box that holds empty OEM gun cases - I keep them in case i ever want to sell a gun, which I never do.

For transportation to/from the range I've used a "tried and true" 4 gun Gun Guard brief case style case that I've had since the 80's.

Nothing fancy, but it works... I do like that Seahorse case using the muzzle down positions.

I do mostly action shooting, so I keep each in a pistol sleeve. Makes it easier to take to a "safe area" to holster.

I got this 4 handgun case at Walmart for $10. It works very well and it's only $10. It's not something I would ever want to check on an airline or drop test but it's a very efficient and economical way to transport up to 4 handguns.

^ got this from my kids for Xmas. It's surprisingly nice for the price. Made in the USA too!

That Seahorse case is pretty sweet. I just looked at their website and the prices look very reasonable. Is that a stock foam insert or custom?

It looks like the prices are $xxx.xx for the case and then you add depending on what foam you want in it, yes?

If you don't mind my asking, how much was that one?

I've got an SKB hard case, great product BTW.
I think they call it a 2-gun case, (edit: SKB website says it will hold 2-4 guns) but I carry three in it with no problem.
I'll probably need something else as soon as I can convince my wife that "every man needs a 1911" (or 3) I've just planted that seed, we'll see how long it takes me to make it grow.

This is what I use. I bought on amazon.com maybe three years ago for about 70.00 bucks. Its got plenty of storage for ammo, glasses, ears, and just about anything else you might need. It also locks and I believe its FAA approved. Its made by ADG sports.
