S&W 625?

Does anyone have a S&W 625? How do you like it? I've been looking at The JM model. I like the fact that I can share ammo with my 1911 Are the moon clips a pain to load/unload?

Brownells sells a 12$ tool for easy de-mooning....no big deal.

After it got rebuilt by S&W, with a new cylinder and crane, I like it fine. Mine is one of the old ones that looked like they took a regular cylinder and had a drunk homeless dude file it down until the clips fit.

Not really. Loading isn't much different than loading a magazine. I use the flat screwdriver blade on a Swiss army knife to pop the empties out, never felt the need for a specialized gizmo.

Best thing is your brass is real easy to find after a string!

Get some RIMZ moon clips for range work and use the steel ones for carry if you do.

Don't have the 625, but I have it's cousin....610 in 40/10mm.

The clips work very well and are no problem to use. Most folks that I know make their own 'tool' to remove the empties, it's handle from a golf club, cut down and with a small notch to catch the edge of the clip.

Speed loading is really a snap and extremely fast with the moonies. Although I have all steel ones from Ranch, I would not have a problem trying the Rimz.

As stated, it's real easy to find your empty brass....it goes nowhere!

The 625's and the 610's both run good. Moon clips are just a kind of speed loader, you have to practice with it. The JM 625 is the 4" version because now IDPA does not allow any revolver over 4"

Love my 625. It is in the top 5 of my collection. Probably shot the most of any centerfire handgun.

625JM and 610 both with 100+- moonclips.

Good fun, it is hard to shoot other revolvers until they smoke but easy with these.

I've got a 625 with a 6" barrel and I'm very fond of it.

The only thing about the JM 625 is the JM grips. They are too small and too slippery for me. Otherwise a great gun !!!
