I've owned both with 12,000+ rounds of experience plus multiple classes through my old G34 and only about 1,500 with the M&P FS9 with APEX Tactical parts and I say it's about even overall with the edge going to the M&P for me as I can conceal it easier and it is slightly more ergonomic. IMO, try both since they are tied for my top 3 handguns that I've owned with my old customized Les Baer

      M&P because it's hard to grip a 2x4.

M&P because it is like a upgraded glock and the frame is made out of zytel polymer reinforced with a stainless steel chassis the glock is all plastic

That punk pulled a Glock 7 on me. You know what that is? It's a porcelain gun made in Germany. Dosen't show up on your airport X-ray machines, here, and it cost more than you make in a month.

If the M&P had a 5 inch model available for purchase in this state, had the Apex Trigger upgrades, and if I had "Preban" mags, then I would say the M&P would win hands down. Otherwise, I would have to go with the G34.

M&P because the Glock is stupid looking and everyone has one...While the M&P performs as well as the Glock and looks significantly (that is understatement) better than the Glock...So my question to you is if you had a choice of guns and they both performed similarly, why the F would you get the stupid looking one? Go DROS the M&P and smile going home.

No offense but this is the dumbest reason into picking or not picking a handgun. They both have their Pros and Cons that need to be weighed out personally, IMO since I have owned/own both the M&P needs some Apex Tactical parts before I declared it the "improved ergonomic Glock". The simplicity of Glock is its strong point and the fact it takes about a minute to detail strip it to the frame.

I disagree, it's a toss up and the Glock 34 has a better twist on the barrel that allows it to be more consistent over a wide range of ammunition while the M&P performs better with hot ammo.

I personally like the M&P series. Glocks are not my ideal gun. The whole relaibilty thing isnt an issue because they both go bang everytime. People say that glocks are more reliable because they have been making polymer guns for a long time, and people always use glocks as the golden standard in reality that isnt fair. People always say will Blank gun live up to glock like reliablity? Time will tell they say. Well technically thats some BS becuase glock was the first reliable polymer gun and since they were the first they are always percieved as the best. Which is not true! They are one of the best guns out there but lets remember that Smith & Wesson has been out longer...way way longer than Glock or most other Gun manufactures for that matter. Smith knows how to make a gun. Glocks are not the best polymer guns! They only reason they are popular is becuase they are cheap (compared to other high end guns), easy to take down and simple to maintain. Whch is why they are a good starter gun. Which in turn makes them popular with First time gun owners. Sorry about this rant obviously its based mostly on opinion but I just get tired of people saying that glocks are the best polymer guns out there and that no other gun will come close when the fact is Glock is 1 of the newer gun companies compared to others. Finally IMHO obviously go with the M&P the feel of a glock sucks and reliability is not better or worse that the Smith. Besides glocks are ugly and not very comfortable for some shooters. People who think glocks are attractive probably also think Rosie o'donnel has the body of a goddess.
