SIG 1911? good value

I'm waiting to pick up my new stainless target. Adj night sights non railed.

I fondled it in the shop when it came it (ordered for me) and it seems fantastic!!! Factory trigger was surprisingly good. I run a Volquartzen trigger kit in my ruger 22/45... I know clean crisp light target triggers... and the factory trigger on my sig1911 is .... nice....

Cant wait til Monday!!!!!

Mine did seem a bit pricey... at just shy of 1.2k I looked into dan wessons... but only 2 models are on the ca list.... one is a commander (or officer- forgot), the other is discontinued.

Until I get out to the range with it... I'm VERY pleased with my purchase. I believe sig has worked hard to fix the problems of the transition from outsourced parts to in house. The complaints you hear about, are before, and during the transition. I dont see any complaints from the newer guns.

What parts on this gun aren't traditional 1911 spec?

They have a external extractor.

I have a 08 1911 TTT and it is awesome. Great trigger, stupid accurate and one hell of a bargain.

I own a GSR Revolution TTT as well and it has been problem-free for me through thousands of rounds. Accurate, solid, very attractive gun with a nice fit/finish. As some posters have pointed out, the early generation GSR's did have QC problems and sould be avoided. They are easily identifiable by the presence of a "manhole cover" on the slide. Later model GSR's (without the manhole cover) are great guns. You should be fine if you get a newish one.

Slide stop, grips, guiderod, safety, bushing, plug, springs, mainspring housing, trigger, barrel and link are all 1911 spec. I have a kimber 22 conversion that I use on mine and I have swapped top ends with my buddy's tle II ( only test fit, no firing). The only time I've had any issue is when trying to use a fobus (hebrew for junk) holster. The profile of the slide is different enough. I use a blackhawk cqc serpa holster that works perfectly now.

i have a railed gsr and although the round count is low ~1000 i havent had any problems with feeding or extracting with any of the ammo ive put in it including reloads. for the money its hard to beat, i mean lets face it if we all had $4000 to blow on a custom 1911 we probably would, but thats not in my budget and i still think it compares nicely to my dads kimber that retails for quite a bit more

Like pointed out above, the external extractor and the slide profile are different.

Everything else is standard 1911 parts.

Like also mentioned, holsters can be a problem due to the slide profile.

My 2nd gen GSR also had a broken extractor at around 1,200 rds and I would really avoid the ones with GSR marking on the slide. Unless it is a great deal and you don't mind taking the chance that you need to send it back to Sig for service.
