My wife just got her first gun, a Ruger SR9c and loves it (I do too for that matter). It feels great and shoots very good. My question is, how many rounds of factory ammo should go through it before she can start using my reloads? So far she has put through 75 rounds of Federal 115 gr FMJ and all have went off without a hitch. I reload 124 gr cast lead from a Lee TL356-124-2R mold (no resizing, tumble lubed with Alox) with 3.8 gr of Titegroup and these shoot very well out of my SW9VE. Thanks in advance.

Same as above do it now. I have over 1k rounds through mine and about 700 of those were reloads, not 1 problem yet. People can say all the bad things they want about ruger Semi-autos but my SR9C has been 100% reliable since they day I brought it home. You and your wife made a good purchase id trust my life to that gun any day of the week.Comment

I've been shopping for a 9mm compact. Looked at the Glock 26, XD Springfield 9mm, and the Ruger SR9C. Reviews on each seem to be good.

I started shooting hand loads in my new SR9c as soon as a got some dies -- after only a couple of boxes of S&Bs. They fed just fine, and I noticed that my groups tightened-up a little. This is fast becoming my favorite autoloader!
I typically store it with the slide locked, though, in an attempt to "tenderize" it a little.Comment
