Not sure what you are trying to get at, AB 962 is still in effect, Im hoping for the Injunction to come down, but the courts seem to be playing games with delays and putting the injunction hearings over for later dates again and again.
I suspect they will try to keep this up until Feb, when the law comes into effect and an injunction wont matter.

AB 2358 was more or less an amendment to 962, it would have included several rifle cartriges to the list prohibiting those also from being purchased on the internet, as well as requiring fingerprinting and record transmission.

I asked the clerk working the ammo counter at a couple of Walmart stores and they said they know about the law, but haven't heard of what system they will use to accomplish the task.

Yes, we read your link last night. So what?

What does any of that have to do with this AB962?

Well, it actually does - AB2358 was DeLeon's attempt to specify what calibers were 'handgun ammunition' as well as do a couple other unpleasant things.

But AB962 is law, and if the current lawsuits trying to stop it do not conclude the way we would like, February 2011 is the implementation date for the next step.

Vacaville, the new one in Fairfield and Dixon all carry it, as of now.
The old one in Fairfield did not, but its a moot point, since it closed.

I talked to the clerk in Milpitas. He said that they're going to continue selling handgun ammo.

Do you live within a couple of hours' drive to Oregon, Nevada or Arizona? Buy you're ammo there! I live about 4 hours from Reno and that's where I'm going to be buying ammo after Feb 2011. Plus I can do some gambling, maybe take my AR and play with it in its intended state for a couple of hours before I have to neuter it to come back to CA.

LOL, as if the decision were up to him? Walmart corporate is going to crunch numbers of time/money spent to comply vs affect to bottom line of continuing to sell handgun ammo or not and then decide accordingly.

Looks like ya need to start reloading. I was putting it off for a while and this law is what helped me get started. It is worth it!

That being said, I hope the law gets struck down or an injunction placed against it before it goes into effect.

I think Tracy would be your closest, or maybe Vacaville.

Hah, good move for them. Honestly, these days.. ammo is one of the few reasons why I even visit Walmarts. More often than not, I'll buy a few more items while I'm making an ammo run - even during times they've run out of ammo.
