    Yes.
Per my understanding it is legal to re-build a pre-ban Hi-cap magazine that you own. It is even legal to replace all the parts of it if they have been damaged.
It is Illegal to manufacture a new hi-cap magazine from a re-build kit.

So long as the number of pre-ban magazines (regardless of how many parts have been replaced to keep them functioning) in your possession remains the same I believe you're GTG.

Rebuild kits are complete magazines which have simply been disassembled.

Burden of proof is on those that may accuse you.
In other words they need to prove that it's NOT a re-built pre-ban (owned) magazine.

And no one will ever ask you the question. My rebuilds of course include the spring; follower and body. The problem with GLOCK bodies is eventually after you take them apart enough to clean them; those little plastic tabs the hold the floorplate on get worn down. The body has to be replaced. Simple and perfectly legal. I don't give a RATS ARSS about it either.

Never be defensive about the legal magazines you bought and paid for. Or your 2nd amendment rights. That's my policy.

http://www.calegalmags.com/gl179mm17rek.html can someone please tell me how does this work? Does it have all the parts i need to re build a new functional magazine? In the side note, please carry your mags in a button style mag holder i was using those tension tight ones. So again, do these rebuild kits come with all the parts I need to rebuild my pre ban high cap mag?
You can find rebuilds cheaper than that. That company charges too much in shipping fees too.

Interestingly, a couple of years ago, I contacted Mec-Gar to replace a standard capacity magazine body that was damaged. They flat out told me that they would not ship me a body (to CA) without my sending them the damaged one first.

I had tossed the old body (caught in a truck tailgate) because it was useless. So I was out of luck. Pissed me off, I must say

Sounds like your sending it to them for repair?

Or are they sending you a mag body with no questions asked?

No, you don't...in theory, anyway. Personally, I wouldn't want to take the chance that the jury really and truly understands the whole "burden of proof" and "beyond a reasonable doubt" thing when the prosecutor starts talking...
