To be fair he did say production type guns and modified guns, excluding historical/etc.

The most expensive gun I can find actually listed as a "for sale" production gun from a gun maker (not just a PURE custom shop) is the Ed Brown "Classic Custom Centennial Edition." It says they will make them only in 2011, but otherwise looks to be a readily available "factory" gun, albeit an engraved one.

        $6995.

After that the most expensive I can find are the various Wilson Combat "tactical supergrades" at $4450

Luger made 2 guns in .45acp. Only one is known to survive, estimated at 1.5 million....

I thought they made 3 and one was completely destroyed during testing, one is known and the third is missing. But, I definately could be wrong.

                Grrrr, i lost by $4.95

But, I think Volkmann is at the very bleeding edge of what can be considered "factory."

I've seen new Ed Brown guns on dealer shelves....never a Volkmann.

Still, well played sir, you win.

Korth's top-of-the-line currently tops out at about $137,000.00.

Around 2004 their anniversary model cost about 25,000 Euros. Around $35,000 at today's exchange rate.

It reminds me that many people think Rolex makes the most expensive watch, when it isn't even in the running.

So if you've got the coin for it, you can spend a lot on new production handguns!

                      BHP 75th Anniversary MSRP $10,500

That's a lot for a BHP since I doubt there was any internal work done on it. A true custom BHP would be a lot nicer to shoot and use while the 75th is all flash. Can anyone come up with a current production 1911 that costs more?

But yeah, Korths. They are the Rolls Royce of handguns

For more eye-popping figures you should post a similar question on the shotgun sub-forum. Or look up shotguns made by Fabbri (Italian), Purdey, Holland & Holland, or Boss (British). Admittedly they are more custom than mass-produced. Still, they have catalogs, and they manufacture them at their factories.

Most info is in German on German websites and I'm not sure Korth USA is still in business -- which probably explains why they are not on the tip of everyone's lips. Probably old guys only [sucks for me if I'm in that group now] If you know German you can look up info regarding the guns. I don't know if you'll find a picture of the six figure model but one is available. You can find some pretty snappy looking ones on their German website. Another thing notable about them is the focus on special alloy steels.

I think there is some sort of C&R exception process for rare and exceptional pieces, even in California (I think), so for someone with the patience and money I think that they could *EVENTUALLY* get a new Korth here even though it will never be on the list.

the most expensive handgun on my personal wish list would be an older Sig P210.
