Gotta do it, some K frame love, your choice 13 blued, or 65 stainless:

    .

    Gun Broker stainless example: http://www.gunsamerica.com/947681651..._1_357_Mag.htm

Where else are you going to find a S&W stainless .357 for less $$ that offers this much value?

Good luck finding one of those in California -- us S&W accumulators are quick to collect 'em...

Smith and Wesson Highway Patrolman, pinned and recessed, with a target hammer and trigger. Not a safe queen. Can fire any load with at most a moderate amount of recoil. Looks fantastic, but not fantastic enough to where it will be a safe queen. And when you run out of ammo you can bludgeon people to death.

ok, so I think I'm leaning to the 627. I prefer the S&W build quality but before committing would like to get a grip on one. I'm planning on heading to American Shooting center at 10 am on Sunday. If anyone has one and can make it out so I can fire a couple rounds I'll pay for your range time. Let me know.

                  Thanks everyone for the feedback.

Too bad you're not in NorCal -- I'd be glad to give you time with mine. Keep in mind aftermarket grips are plentiful and will make all the difference in the world in terms of how comfortable the gun is.

Don't forget S&W's lifetime warranty, too....

PS - here's a picture with Nill-Griffe "round combat" grips. These have significant palm swells and are the most ergonomic and comfortable to shoot (look good too!).

                          Couldnt go wrong with 686.

Oh wow. Galleryofguns.com has the PERFORMANCE CENTER version of the 627 for $950 OTD (including EVERYTHING, DROS, taxes, shipping, FFL receiving, all of it.)

That is a smoking deal. I just have the standard 627. The PC version gets chamfered chambers, supposedly a better crown, and presumably a nicer trigger.

I paid just a tad less than that for my standard 627.

If I were you I'd buy it and get it. (They have 2) If you don't like it I bet you could sell it and ALMOST break even.

686 from the custom shop or a tricked out 686 is my choice. They are more accurate than me in any configuration.

PutTogether: That's exactly what I think I want but would like to get a hand on one prior to dropping any cash. good call for where to find them though.
