    keep loaded magazine?

Just curious if anyone keep a loaded mag at all time? I notice that with a new mag, it takes a lot of pressur eot load ammo. The spring will be looser after awhile i'd assume. Is it a good idea to have 5 bullets loaded to loosen the spring a little?

Also, I'm looking for a safe to purchase, but in the meantime, if I out a lock over my Glock 19 case, will it be sufficient?
I think the law requires a safe correct? Or does it only have to be locked up?

IS the cable lock that came with the gun sufficient as a gun lock? Without a safe, I'm assuming that you need to have it on at all time?

Yes, I keep at least 3 loaded mags for every gun I own.

If you need to get your weapon in a hurry, you won't have much tome to load your mags.

If you're trying to loosen up the springs in the mag, just leaving rounds in technically shouldn't do anything. The spring needs to be compressed and decompressed to receive any wear. I'm pretty sure it won't be affected if you just load it and leave the rounds in there.

It's not keeping a magazine loaded that weakens the springs. It's the act of loading and unloading the mags over and over again. I keep 3 mags loaded at all times for my HD gun.

How you keep your gun locked is up to you. The consequences are not for keeping it unlocked, they're for what happens with it if you or someone else fires it negligently. If the cable lock is what you have right now, you can twist it around the handle of the case a couple times or lock the chamber of the gun itself, however you feel comfortable. It's common sense. Keep it out of sight and reach of anyone you don't want to be able to access it. (especially kids of course.) Enjoy your G19. It's a great gun.

you only have to lock it up when children could potentially gain access to it and use it, or when you're outside your home without a CCW and you're not UOCing or actually using it.

I have 5 loaded mags....no time to load them in a HD situation...

Keep a mag loaded to its full capacity. Then every month rotate it with another mag. This way it lets your mags "rest" in between the rotation. You don't want weak springs it only causes problems like FTF and keeping your slide from locking after the last shot.

Put the cable lock that comes with your gun on the gun like its designed to do. The idea is to not allow anyone to have access to a operating firearm. Only putting a padlock on the case is not sufficient enough.

CA Law says 10 rounds max per mag. I keep my mag loaded with 10 rounds.

I have 3 loaded 10rnd mags for my 9mm pistol and then 5 loaded 10rnds mags for my AR, plus 1k+ on stripper clips that can be loaded into my mags in seconds.
                    Hmm...

I keep all my mags for all my guns loaded. I just don't see a use for an empty mag. Even if it's just sitting waiting to be used.

If you don't unload your mags and allow the springs to rest, your weapon will fail.

                          same here.
3 HG at different places with full mag in and empty mag next to it.

Thats strange, I have mags I keep loaded all the time when I'm not shooting them. I have had them for years and they still work fine. Its compressing and decompressing that wears the springs.

do you guys unload when you go to the range? I believe that you are suppose to keep your mags unloaded when it's in your vehicle right?

                              Gosh, you guys are hardcore!

Just curious, if you guys were to see two guys carrying your stuff around your house and ready to leave with it, will you guys shoot to kill or make them drop to the ground and wait for cops?
