        That was expensive....

I agree that unless you're shooting Matches that require several mag changes in a 2 minute drill an extended mag release button is a pain in the
        rear.

I almost lost another one with that extenstion.

this time it was in a shoulder rig ( A Glaco )
Was riding off-road in my Rhino , Belted in and felt it drop out

Caught that one in time .. That was the last straw
put the release back to stock/ Never another problem

They are easy to change out
About 4 or 5 min job / No special tools needed

In fact, if you search YOUTUBE.com you will find several videos on how to change anything on a Glock.

You don't have to take anything apart and the entire job takes maybe 38 seconds.

Diy. Yes you do need to test with your holster. I needed to pound an indent in my leather holster so it wouldn't release.

I changed mine out with a Lonewolf part. Sucked big time. The lonewolf part doesn't really click like the stock one. I immediately took it out.

I think if you would like a little more reach than why not. You can always shave it down to what you want. It may be worth it to you but it wasn't to me.

I have Tango Down/Vickers Extended mag release for my Glock 19, its between a factory stock and the factory extended. It's mad nice with the release rounded of the edges. I have no problems with the magazine releasing accidentally. It fits well in my on duty Safariland 6280 and Kaluban Cloak holster. Give it a try, you won't be sorry.

I have an Extended Mag release on My Glock 19. i have never inadvertently hit it. but after a while i did file it down a bit and re cut the lines in it. It can be installed yourself very easy... you just need a small flat head screwdriver.

I tried an extended mag catch on a Glock 27 and didn't really like it so I removed it. It was basically a stock mag catch with a little plate that attaches to it with a couple screws, for more than $20. I still wanted the mag release to be extended though, so I installed a stock Glock mag catch for the 10mm/.45acp model Glocks (G20/G21 etc). The release button extends further out than before and best yet is that it only costs about $4 and is a Glock factory part so it works perfect. I rounded off the sharp corners of the release button with some sand paper. I have the .45acp model mag catch on all my 9mm and .40 Glocks and it makes it a lot easier to release the magazines without having to change my grip to reach the release like I would when they had the stock mag catches.

I have an extended mag release on both my G17 and G23. These are the Glock Factory extended release parts. They work fine and I don't have problems for what I use them for.
