Couldn't have owed him much, a highpoint is only about $130-$150 brand new, with a magazine.

Have him get the mags direct from HiPoint. 15 bucks and free shipping.

Call Hi Point and ask for the a new firing pin set. They will sent you one for free. The new design firing pin will give you more reliable striking than the one that come with it.

And forget about that 10rd mag and only use the 8rd mag.

Yes, you won't find their mag cheaper anywhere else.

I have a C9 with about 500 rounds through it. Has gone bang everytime and no failures. Only thing that kinda sucks is the accuracy, not the greatest but decent. And I have to manually push the slide forward when loading a new mag, pulling it back and releasing it on its own doesnt seem to chamber the round effectively. By giving it a little "help" the round chambers normally and after that its good to go. Cheap, effective, and fun to shoot.

my friend owns one and while I enjoyed shooting it alot, it has recently started to jam about once or twice with each magazine. The magazine release or magazine itself must have some issue because it will randomely release the magazine after a shot has gone off. I use to think it was my friend limp wristing it causing issues but then it started doing the same with me.

My C9 is pushing 2k rounds through it. I bought a case of CHEAP blazer (the steel cased stuff). I have fired 850 rounds of it with no malfunctions. After reading multiple Hi-Points are junk threads

I started keeping track. I did discover prior to starting this case of ammo I could cause jams about once a magazine by letting my arms relax and limp wristing it when it is shot. So while I will use it as a cheap range plinker I would not trust it when I might have to shoot from weird stances where I can't give it a solid backing.

For under $200 I can't complain. It is top heavy, ugly, and to much plastic but it goes bang every time and it is accurate enough.

Hi Point 9mm better than Glock, you say. Whew, kindly back away from the mushrooms.

Several Arizona gun shops refuse to sell Hi Point handguns.

Why do they refuse to sell them?
