    Reloads Bad?

I took my RIA 1911a1 to the range today for the first time. I used reloads and it jammed or failed to go into battery every other round, so I used factory ammo thereafter with no issues. Is this a common problem or just bad reloads.

Sounds like bad reloads. Where did you get them and what type of bullet? All I run is my reloads in my ria tactical and I haven't had any problems. Mark

Thats why you only shoot reloads you make yourself, and are 100% sure that they are charged correctly.

Sounds like bad reloads. I've been reloading and buying reloads for years with no problems. Let the range master know so he/she can let their reloader know that there is a problem.
                      Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Not necessarily bad (however sounds like they're bad for YOUR gun) There's a diference

                        WTB used AK MFER.

The thing that's weird is I ran them through my XD with no problems. Are 1911s finicky?

HP, SWC, FMJ? Sounds like finicky ramps or OAL is to long...

I like to use factory ammo on a new gun just to insure the gun and mags are working perfectly. Some of the tighter 1911's do require a 'Break-in' period.
Once the gun is confirmed in working order, I will shoot range reloads or factory, whatever is cheaper.
Try some factory ammo before making any decisions on the gun.
                              Good luck.
