You don't say what you're planning to use it for. If competition (e.g., IPSC/USPSA), the Glocks have lots of aftermarket trigger parts that can be used to lighten/smooth the pull in production class, and there are also lots of options if you want a full open gun.

As noted above, some folks like the Glock grip and hate XDs (like me), and others are the opposite. See what you like/works for you. You may not find both a G35 and tactical XD for rent in the same place, but IMO, you'll get a really good idea by comparing a G22 and a full size XD40.

Ive owned XD's and Glocks. I have to say Glock. Stupid simple and reliable. XD is nice, but a Glock is very hard to beat IMHO.

Seriously, if you've fired them both and like them equally (which is rare ;-) then about the only thing left is to either draw straws or look at different things like mag price, aftermarket and factory parts avail, ease of take-down, etc.

Im sure the XD will survive a fall into dirt and grass,like the Glock did.

If you find your self ever needing to throw your guns out of a plane ,not sure why one would want to .Then buy a Glock . This is how i pick my weapons ,because you never know when you may have to throw your gun out of a plane Good luck finding it.
