    Python

    Never owned one....
What should a good , 2 1/2 inch ,"shooter grade" run me these days?

The kind that You could carry and not worry about it too much ( no box , aftermarket grips, light holster wear etc)

Just a good 2 1/2 Python , not minty , but still in a good shape and decent looking.

If you find one for $900-$1000, jump all over it. 2 1/2" seems to be hard to come by these days in any condition.

Thank You . Not just be clear , I am talking about just a nice ,solid, decent looking (95%) shooter. NOT a minty in the box and target with correct grips.

95%.?....that still seems to be in very very good condition....I would expect that it goes for at least $1,000-$1,200 here in CA..

Saw one like you describe, except it did have beat up original grips and maybe 50% of the blueing left. 2.5" about a year ago at a local shop. It did lock up tight. Saw no mechanical issues. Obviously had been someone's carry gun. I think it lasted about a week on the shelf. Asking price was $1200.

Hard to find these days but 1K seemes to be the going rate. You can try to find a SW 19 in 2.5inch for about half the price.

A clean, 2.5 inch Python with 90% or better is very likely going to set you back a grand, and I've seen asks higher.

They are very hard to find and the short barrel commands a premium it seems.
