which .45 ?

i don't own any .45, i am looking for a range gun for fun but i can decide between ria 1911 or glock 21sf? i aready have a g19 and g26 but no 1911,
i am a glock fan but should i try something different?

i have fired many handguns and i must say that a well made 1911 is a definite must have for the tool box. Easy to clean, nice to fire. smooth.

Common advice is to find a range to rent a few .45 models and see what works for you.

I would say go to a range that will let you rent both, run a 100 rounds and get the one you're better with. I shot a 21sf and I loved it, I also shot a 1911 the same day and that's how I made up my mind. I want them both, I'm getting the RIA first though and then the glock later. If I could put the 21 sf sights on the ria it would be the perfect firearm.

Easy solution... Get the 1911 since you already have Glocks, at least this way you can add a little variety in your arsenal.

Sig P220ST

I have a number of .45s, including 1911s, Sigs and H&K USP. The one I shoot the best at the range is the Sig P220ST, an all stainless gun that weighs the same as a steel 1911. It has a comfortable grip and a good trigger. I bought it used for about $700, less than the cost of a Kimber or Colt 1911.

I just went through the same decision process and as already suggested - the answer is both! I ended up buying a P220 first and like it but for me personally I can shoot the 1911 just a little better...for a range gun.

I'd definitely go with the 1911. Not only are they a joy to shoot at the range, but really, it's advisable to be familiar with as many platforms as possible. As common as the 1911 is, I think everyone should be familiar with their care and use. A 1911 is a gun you'll never regret buying.

You already have other Glocks. Do you plan on using the .45 for HD or carry that will be 100% reliable? Or do you just want a .45 to add to your collection and to just shoot at your leisure that can be picky? Choice is simple IMO.
