Which gun for CCW?

I really like my G19, but looking for something a little smaller. I'm not a big guy and the G19 is a little too bulky in my gun pocket in my motorcycle vest.

Suggestions...

When I want a small CCW gun, smaller than the Glock 19 size, I use one of these two. The Kahr MK9 is a 24 ounce, all steel 6+1 capacity 9mm that conceals very well. The S&W 642 is a 5 round .38 special with internal hammer and aluminum frame, weighing 15 ounces. The Kahr is probably the easiest to shoot accurately, and has a good DAO trigger.

Your G19 is fine, just get a fanny pack. I run a G31 or G23. Carrying a gun on a bike is not the same problem as just walking around concealed. It is a 2 part problem, transporting the weapon on your person or the bike, then being able to get to it. Obviously you don't just sweep your shirt and draw your weapon. Get the bike in a stable position, get your gloves off, and so on. The other option is just to put it in the saddlebag or tank bag.

Anyone who believes that they can draw and shoot from a moving bike, get a video up.....

I have played musical guns with my CCW and they have all been good choices. The 3 I currently have on the permit are a S&W 442, Glock 36 and Glock 26. I always carry the 442 revolver no matter what. It's lightweight, simple to conceal and totally reliable. When weather and dress permit I will carry one of the others in addition to the 442. If I could only have one gun on the permit it would definitely be the 442 because it is so easy to carry.

The Glock 36 is my next favorite because I can get a full grip on it, it's slimmer than the other Glocks and it has the power of .45acp. The Glock 26 is easy to conceal as well but is a little thicker than the G36. It holds 11 rounds total in a small package which is good.

Other guns that were on the permit were a Ruger SP101, Kahr K40, S&W 640 (.357mag) and a Glock 27. Those are all great guns, the first 3 were just a little heavier to carry than I liked. I chose the Glock 26 over the G27 because it seems a little easier to handle but I still go back and forth about which one I prefer.

To me, all these guns are easier to carry concealed than a G19, mainly because the handle of the G19 is longer, but with proper clothing the G19 is a good CCW gun as well.
