Hey guys i need some opinions for my class tomorrow. I have a handgun defensive class and i dont know if i should use my Colt 1911 or my Springfield XD9. I have all the stuff i need for each one. I just dont know which one to use!!!! haha i guess it doesnt really matter but i just thought i would ask your guys opinion. Thanks

The 1911 is brand new to me i have put about 200 rounds threw it. The XD i have had for 1 year and have put about 1000 rounds threw it.Comment

The one I'd recommend is the one that goes "bang" every time. I felt bad watching my classmates focus more on malfunction drills than accuracy.Comment

This. From the sound of it, you use your XD more. So, it's safe to assume that it'll probably be your go-to gun if you need it for HD, so you should train with that.
Either way, which ever gun you plan on using for HD and any other defense, take that and use it. When I go to classes, I always take my Glock over my Kimber (although I did use my Kimber once, just to see how it would do.... I then immediately went back to Glock on the next class).Comment

Is this your first class? Go with which ever one you are most proefficient with.
Sometimes, regardless of how many rounds we put through one gun, another platform which we have less experience with works better. If you perform better with the XD9 go with the XD.
To those advising other guns, unfortunately we're in California and here we cannot purchase a gun right before class and use it in the class. I thought you'd all know that

XD would be my choice as long as its been reliable. Plus, the 9mm is easier to shoot/control than a 45ACP.Comment
