I'm amazed at how "religious" the debate of the 1911 gets. It is just a tool.

Bill has a point about people dinking with their guns and the 1911 attracting home gunsmiths with dremals. That said I've seen Glocks turned into jamomatics with titanium super polished bits so it is not a 1911 specific problem.

All I can say is that next time your 1911 jams I'll be watching:-))

I dunno about limpwristing. I have a pretty solid grip. And I haven't fire my .38 for almost a year.

Plus, the other two guys I was with kept jamming too with the gun. An HK .45 I rented a few months before shot great though.

I think I want a S&W Model 586 now. It can hold 7 rounds and I can shoot .38 and .357s

My 1911s have yet to fail me. I'm sure there are more than a few that do fail, but I've seen most everything else fail at one time or another, so since mine have yet to fail me I'll stick by them; and defend them. You go with what you know. Speaking of domestic violence, that is one group of men I'd have no problem firing into.

And like you went on to say, nobody wants to be on the wrong end of a loaded gun, 1911 or otherwise.

Kimber Gold Match II

Shot few thousand rounds from my 2002ish Kimber Gold Match II. Never had single problem using Wolf FMJ, Winchester White box, Fiocchi FMJ, Speer Lawman FMJ and JHP, Hornady FMJ/JHP and S&B FMJ. All 230gr/185gr or 200gr.

Used mostly stock Kimber mags, and some Wilsons and Chip Mc worked too..

However, I do have 3 Chicom mags i got cheap that don't work at all. FTFs..
