I've had good experiences with Wildon and Chip McCormick mags, but I use Wilsons.
Don't have any experience with the magwell though, sorry!Beretta PX4 Storm .40 S&W (Round Count 3,050) | Yugo M72 | Romy M44

on that magwell you need to cut/sand the grips so they still screw in correctly. Get to know your pistol, stip it! Get a real mag well and if you still want, take it to a gunsmith to get it blended.Comment

I would look into the Smith & Alexander magwell, it's a direct 1-piece MSH/magwell replacement. Really quite easy.
To keep it simple I would buy new MSH guts which should consist of 4 parts to replace the ILS in your magwell. There are 3 parts + a pin holding it all together.
1) ensure gun is unloaded, field strip the gun so the slide is off the frame
2) Ensure the hammer is forward, guide the hammer with your thumb and finger and pull the trigger. Don't let the hammer slam against the frame.
3) Use punch to push out the mainspring housing pin.
4) Use a rubberband to hold down the grip safety (learned this from Kruzr)
5) slide the MSH down and out of the frame. Take note how the sear spring is orientated. The rubberband on the grip safety holds the hammer strut in plcae as well as the sear spring.
6) Replace guts into new mainspring
7) Slide new MSH/magwell over sear spring, ensuring the strut contacts the mainspring
8) push in MSH pin
9) Reassemble.
All magwells come unblended to the frame, so you'll see a "step" in your magazine well. You can have it blended by a competent gunsmith if you wish. But, function over form as I say. It does help trememdously in magazine reloads.
You can see the step from the magwell to the frame.
Good luck!Comment

✟ In the beginning was the 1911, and the 1911 was THE pistol, and it was good. And behold the Lord said, "Thou shalt not muck with my disciple John's design for it is good and it workith. For John made the 1911, and lo all of his weapons, from the designs which I, the Lord, gave him upon the mountain."✟Comment

I've got the S&A Magwell on mine and removed the ILS. Powermags, Wilsons, Tripps have all worked well for me. Personally I don't like the 10 round magazines. 7 rounders tend to be the most reliable.WTS all BNIB: Colt S70 Repro, HK45c, Gen4 G19Comment

They stick out about two rounds worth. I guess, I could measure when I get home. I just moved so may take a while to find them.John
