I'd say the Springfield only due to the fact that it is a Series 70 pattern gun.

Between the SA Loaded and Kimber Custom II, I would get the Loaded.

I was recently between a SA Operator and a Kimber TLE/RL II. I got the TLE/RL II for a few reasons, but the main one was because the Operator I wanted (all black) wasn't available anywhere and was on a long back order

I would by a series 70 gun over a series 80. Even the USMC made that choice when they had kimber build guns for them. I bought my Kimber before they switched to series 80 for that reason. Not a fan of the swartz safety.

A Colt Series 80 firing pin safety is completely different than a Swartz system. The Series 80 system works off the trigger while a Swartz system works off the grip safety. Engineered right (S&W and Sig) the Swartz system can be very reliable. Done poorly and you can damage it reassembling your pistol. Anyway I just wanted to clear up any Swartz vs Series 80 confusion.

Before I bought my second Loaded model I looked at the Kimbers. The guy at the gun store showed me the silly design of the firing pin safety, and the way you have to remove the rear sight to change it if there is a problem. I also looked up Kimber failures online and discovered a lot of complaints- most due to the firing pin safety. I even remember one complaint where the rear sight was loose so the guy used a drop of locktite to secure the screw, but it dripped down inside and caused the firing pin safety to lock- how sad is that? After that I was sold on another SA Loaded.

The full length dust cover rail makes a world of difference in the "when I run out of bullets I'm going to beat you to death with the pistol" look that causes bad guys to run in fear, and lesser men to feel inadequate. It looks just plain beastly and the extra heft up front does help manage recoil a bit better. Plus, an angel told me that when God called JMB to heaven it was to build him a full rail 1911!
