Help me choose a glock please.

In about two weeks I will buy a glock for range shooting and HD. This will be my 2nd gun but my first handgun. I have decided on either the G17 or G22. The 9mm seems very practical but the .40 seems like more fun to shoot. Also it seems like I could drop a 9mm barrel in the G22 if I go that route. Additionally, I want nightsights. Should I go with Glock factory nightsights, or should I go with some Trijicon sights? I live in Sacramento and I don't know who I could get to install non-factory sights. I really appreciate any advice I can get because I am a handgun noob. Thanks!

Handle and try to shoot both. I favor the 9mm glocks. I would definitely get the pistol with night sights already installed. I'm sure River City Gun Exchange or JK supply has what your looking for.

You will get lots of answers and both choices are good. The 40S&W costs more to run, and it has greater recoil. Other than that, no real difference.

Good idea there, 40 to 9mm. If you don't mind the extra money for the conversion barrel, definitely do that.

I would say the Glock platform is just perfect for 9mm. As for the night sights, the glock night sights are pretty nice and a good convenience to get from the box.

The only reason I wouldn't get glock night sights would be if I was going to get some of the more unconventional sights out there like XS, or a fiber optic one or something more out of the ordinary.

I forgot to mention this in the original post. I've heard of sights with a wider space between the rear left and right post for better accuracy. Does anyone know of night sights like these? Again, thanks for the help.

I have the 17 and it is my favorite gun to shoot. If you want to get the .40 and just run a 9mm barrel keep in mind that some folks have had extractor issue when shooting 9mm out of a .40 gun.

I'd say .40 is not fun to shoot.
the glock night sights are very bright IMHO

17 plus an advantage arms .22 conversion is my favorite range setup. I get lots of trigger time with the .22 then switching to 9mm is still fairly cheap to practice for hd use.

Wider rear notches dont' improve accuracy, they help you acquire your sight picture faster.

And if you want to actually learn how to shoot well instead of simply making noise at the range, I'd go with the 9mm as a first handgun.

                        Just my two cents.

                          Glock 35 + 9mm barrel & Mags + AA Conversion Kit.

I would have done that but I am staying to the one caliber that I reload.

                            17 or 34 no use for .40
