Springfield TRP model not on Roster?

I'm looking for this model handgun:

PC9105LP

I know for a fact I have seen it here in a gunshop in SoCal. But when I was searching gunbroker the shipper says the box says "Not for CA Sale". I checked the list and that model number is not on it. What's the deal?

PC9105LCA with and without ambidextrous safety is on the list. Is that what you saw in the gun store? Many people see Wilson, for just one example, CQBs on Gunbroker, but it has to be the exact model number that Wilson submitted for approval. I haven't looked closely, but my guess is you pay a little more for the California model for probably not much, if any, more gun. Maybe as a way to recoup the costs of submitting for testing and getting on the roster? Also, you'll probably find many guns on Gunbroker that ARE on the list, yet the seller still won't sell to you here. Good luck.

Was it for sale to the general public, or to law enforcement only? Cops don't need "safe guns" in this state. Or maybe consignment?

PC9105LCA is the only TRP on the list and therefore is the only one you can have shipped in...the one you saw may have mistakenly been shipped in (someone didn't know any better), or someone owned it and gave it to the shop to sell. Those are just guesses on my part.

Found this on M1911.org:

"You would need to have your dealer order the PC9105LCA and be sure they know it must have the full size rail as this is the only version legal for CA in the TRP operator. Since we kept the same part number for both models we added CA so that we knew which model was which."

Any other ones you see for sale in CA are ones that slipped through the cracks or are privately owned for sale by the dealer.

Correct. P stands for package which includes a holster and magazine pouch. All current TRP have the P at the end. Most FFL that sells the TRP runs it without the P............... if you can find one.

Yes that's true, the OP asked about and the nice lady from Springfield was talking about the 9105 though and that's what I was responding to. TRP and TRP Operator are different models...TRP Operator is 9105L...TRP is 9108L

Has anyone seen a TRP of any variety for sale anywhere lately? I am looking but have noticed a shortage of Springfield 1911s in SoCal lately. I am thinking of the Stainless TRP or possibly the MC with the half railed frame.

The TRP are very hard to find. There was a gunshop in North Cal that had a Stainless TRP for $1645.
