Single stack. For guys with smaller hands, that's a plus.

Yeah, I know, there are some double stack 1911 models too, but to me a true 1911 is a single stack.

Yes, the 1911 was made for "Killing the enemies (I'm just going to say), specifically the .45 because the target was so under the influence on drugs." You know what guys, I gota get one soon I handled the GI 1911 and love it= $599.

I was really fond of an old 1911 in nickle that I had.. still had the lanyard hole and arched mainspring housing and old hammer. it would only shoot ball ammo reliably but... RELIABLY... it always worked.. it would maybe shoot 5" groups at 25 yards but the plastic gun guys thought it was"accurate'.. 8 round mags worked well in it and 9 rounds ready to go seemed pretty much excessive to me in any case.

I keep on contemplating, which 1911 to get but I really do like the plain looks of a GI with vertical serrations and clean looks, the only thing I would change is for a straight trigger.

Without reading any other posts but the OP's, you're mindset reminds me of mine when I was about to buy my 1st, even 2nd and 3rd handguns. Don't overthink things too much because you won't see the forest for the tree. I'm on my 10th now and have moved beyond this and am quite happy with 10 rounds of 9mm or 10 rounds of 10mm.

It's funny how great minds think/use to think alike, you know what i really don't care but I'm the kind of guy who goes for full potential, if there isn't none present I cross it out. For instance, 5 shot snub nose check, 22/45 ruger pistol check, and Glock 26 check. I'm getting the ultimate potential on those pistols and I would like the same from another, reason one 1911!

Despite my earlier post , I hear what you're saying. If I didn't have pre-ban mags for the beretta 92FS I'd have zero interest in one. It's almost the size of a Desert Eagle and it's in 9mm, add being limited to ten rounds why bother?

The Rifleman Channel is a Alabama coal miner, though I do not agree with some of his views, he is hilarious as hell, and speaks greatly of the 1911.

I want to get a 1911 because yes it usually is within the magazine cap that we have here, it makes bigger holes in paper, and it's just a classic that has survived throughout all this time, which means it also has a lot of after-market parts.

The 1911 feels unnatural in my hand. Call me a fool, but I'd take a Glock over a 1911 any day.

The full length dust cover rail makes a world of difference in the "when I run out of bullets I'm going to beat you to death with the pistol" look that causes bad guys to run in fear, and lesser men to feel inadequate. It looks just plain beastly and the extra heft up front does help manage recoil a bit better. Plus, an angel told me that when God called JMB to heaven it was to build him a full rail 1911!
