Just picked it up from jail the other day, it took me about a month of stalking gun broker to finally track one down.
When I started my 10 day weight I was low on time and checked out the grips at first and was thinking I wouldnt like them, they almost felt a bit slippery.... I spent the 10 days online researching what to do to change them since there is no checkering up front due to the wrap around grips ( o crap ). I ended up ordering a couple options such as the wilson combat checkering which I think just fits up front and part of it goes under the grip to hold it in place, Pearce rubber finger groove grips that slip under the grips to stay in place and a set of G10 Horned Lizard grips (Larry Davidson ones).
After having a bit of time to mess with the Operator, the grips are just fine maybe a little thicker than normal for a 1911 but they seem to keep my grip just about perfect and that is important for me because my right hand is full of screws and plates.
Overall this gun rocks, features, price, feel and even finish.
