My Glock 34 does it and so does my FNP-40. It's a desirable trait IMO.

My g26 does that. I dont see it as a positive or negative. You just better have your finger off the trigger when you slam that magazine in. (you should have it off anyway)

I like that feature. None of the Glocks I have shot did it, and neither does my USP. I did shoot a Tokarev TT-33 once, and I guess this is an intended feature with those; just slam the mag home and you are ready to go.

it's not a 'feature'. it's something that happens with many semi-automatic designs almost regularly, but relying on it when you need it most is liable to get you killed.

it's one of those things where you can do it countless times in practice and the slide will release on it's own, but the one time you actually need it to, you won't insert the new magazine just right and that'll end your fun real quick.

This is normal. As your springs wear in a little this will happen. It happens on almost every handgun I have, Glock or not (curiously non of my 1911s have ever done it.). It shouldn't be a problem or affect reliability. Once the springs get too weak they will cause reliability issues. But the slide slamming forward is not in itself a sign of a problem.

Your Glock is not having issues, it's running the way it's supposed to. All the Glocks I ever owned did that, all of them, 2 G21's, 4 G17's, G30, G26, 2 G22's, G34, G17L, G24C, 2 G19's, G23, G20 and the G31.

Glocks don't care how hard you slam a reload, but be careful on the 1911 widebody's, you can jam the magazine into the frame and they will stop running.... Seen it a bunch of times when shooters go from Glocks to STI/SVI's...

I won't call it a feature but all glocks do it. If you think about it the glock slide release is easy to release compared to some other firearms. It might be the tenifer finish on the slide cut notch who knows. Some M&P owners call it a feature from reviews I've seen.

Anyway...

When you load up a magazine into the gun it pushes up on the slide and if u slam it hard enough the enertia of your wrist giving can cause the slide to move back as well and thus allowing the release to spring back down.

The Tokarev I shot did 3-round bursts. I don't think that was intentional either.
