What could be going on? My Glock having issues...

So my G19 never did this before, so I'm wondering what you think it could be... when I inserted the mag, I basically slammed it in there pretty hard and in turn my slide released on it's own. After I got home I loaded some snap caps up and tried again. Sure enough, after slamming the mag in the slide released on it's own. If I don't hit it hard enough it won't do it on it's own.... soooo, should I contact Glock about this? Anyone have this before?
I also found that on occassion, not very often, my slide won't stay open after the last round.

Any thoughts? And don't say, "Cause it's a POS polymer gun!" Cause I've heard it all before... lol

What you are describing is something that a lot of Glock owners have commented on in the past. Check your slide stop spring - is it intact and working?

This happens with HK and Sigs too.

My G17 will do this if the mags are planted "well". I rarely hit them home hard enough however. Additionally, on the slide stop, I've found that my thumb will "ride" it sometimes preventing the last round lock open. I think both are common occurrences with Glocks.

Does it do that on all of your mags? it could also be the part of the magazine surface that makes contact with the slide lock.

i know this is supposedly a 'feature' on the M9/92fs and M&P.

I've done the same with glocks and xds. Saves you a step in reloading!

If I slam the magazine in there hard and the slide releases on its own, isn't that a good thing? no need to do it yourself when seconds count.

When firing my buddy's brand new G17, the same thing can happen. But it only happens with factory Glock magazines. He has a few of the Korean made one, but we can't seem to get the same result with them.

It's a cool feature to me, ultra-fast-mall-ninja-low-drag-high-speed reload action!!!!

I only wish my 1911 would do the same... but it's not a polymer gun.

A lot of glock owners experience this. I need to try it with mine.

Not an intended thing, but nothing to worry about either.

Perfectly normal for Glocks to do that, my friend's brand new Gen 3 Glock 17 does that with a full magazine (although it doesn't seem to do it with the aftermarket korean made mags). I know USPs also do it, I believe it even warns users of it chambering the round when magazine is slammed in the manual.

it's a physics thing.. Not sure if mr. glock ever intended for it to happen, but it's very, very common...

as i mentioned, it's a matter of physics and even guns like 1911's, HK's, Sigs, XD's, MPs can have this happen under the right conditions..

it's absolutely nothing to worry about.. just be aware of it is all..

All my Glocks do it, except for my G20. My Custom STIs and USPs do it as well. Only if I slam it real hard. I like the feature. No problem with me.
