Other than looks, why get a MAC clone?

The MPA mac clones look pretty cool but is there any advantage to owning one? 10 round limit and semi-auto pretty much makes these worthless right? Someone help me talk myself out of getting one.

Would you be saying that to a guy shooting one at you? 10 rounds and semi auto is hardly worthless... Thats what all semi auto's come with in cali.

If you want out, here's how I got out of the gun buying spiral:

Some people like to get guns that looks cool or for historical reasons. This is completely understandable and works out well. I used to buy some guns just for their looks or some history.

Then I realized that I have too many guns and made a change in my buying habit. I'd only buy to fill a specific need that my current guns can't fill adequately. This is great as I'm now satisfied with very few guns.

I wasn't saying that semi auto is worthless. Of course not. I'm saying when comparing this to any other modern handgun (lets just say Glock) is there any advantage or reason for owning one.
Bumpfire huh? Got to put some sort of extension on that barrel I suppose?

Its true all handguns come with 10 round and semi auto, a mac 10s selling points were large capacity and throwing a lot of lead down range fast. So i think his question is there any reason to buy a mac clone instead of just another handgun? For me, other then a show piece, not much other reason. Heavy, not comfortable, and i shoot better with an average handgun. But I still want one for some reason. Just cant justify why.

I wonder what percentage of purchasers grew up in the 80's? I wouldn't say I'd never buy one. But if I did it would be for looks and childhood nostalgia.

most folks put a fake can on the end, for a good place to hang on... youre exactly right. i think they usually come with one if you buy it from a dealer, for the single shot exemption... but i may be wrong. wouldnt be the first time.

10 shot? You guy don't have piles of old Sten 32 magazines laying around?

                          1. Cool factor very high
                          2. Crowd pleaser and somewhat rare
                          3. Very accurate! - At least my MPA mini 9mm is. My groupings on the MPA are better than my other 9mm guns. I am sure the weight helps there.

Everyone I know who has one love's it. They tell me they are very accurate, reliable as hell and yes they bump fire very easily.

I have handled the Velocity MAC clones, MPA's, Cobray's, and the real deal Military Armament Corp guns. The MPA's are just about as solid as they come and simple as can be. If I had the extra funds I would get one.

There are 3 kinds of people in this world.
The wise, learn from the mistakes of others.
The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.
