I prefer 9mm over 40S&W. It's a matter of preferrence, but less recoil is a big factor in my decision.

.40 P2000SK looks like the winner to me. I have a .40 USP compact and it's great.

I own 9mm's because they are range used guns for me and I base the purchase on my prebans. If stuck using 10 rounders I'd opt for the largest caliber I am comfortable with. P2000 in .40 is a great pistol IMO (even though I'd prefer a usp compact in .45 or .40 with light LEM trigger.

Hey Neo, I would agree that barrel length is the biggest contributing factor to felt recoil. However, my fatehers Glock 23 (40 s&w with 4 inch barrel) has more felt recoil than my Springfield XD40 subcompact (40 s&w with 3 inch barrel). I believe this is due to the slide on my XD being much heavier than the slide on the glock. Just some food for thought.He who dies with the most guns, was a terrible shot!Comment

I'll take 9mm all day everyday. I don't get hung up on the very slight different between .40 cal. What I do get hung up on is longer magazine capacity and cheaper ammo. Shot placement over stopping power. Furthermore when statistics show that the majority of your rounds will miss during a fight, I want as many rounds down range as possible.Comment

Both will do the job... If you choose 9mm........ Powerball... is a good choice in self defense ammo.
Feeds like ball ammo. Plenty of energy on target!
